Even though the concept of sculpture seems a bit boring but if you dig a bit you will be intrigued to learn more. Sculptures aren't always made for certain reasons but they carry stories, and significance. They are a barrier between past and present often works as a gateway. We can indulge into the realm of knowledge and past incidents just by looking at those monuments. Sculpture used to be made on multiple purposes. Artists used to apply craft as a medium to convey their messages and emotions. 

Back in that era sculpture was also a visual representation of religious beliefs and culture. In thousand old Hindu temple, there is exotic carving of Rishi Bhringi which doesn't only represents religious beliefs but also shows how dance was a part of the culture since that time.

In Ancient Egyptian mythology, Memnon was a hero and king who fought in the Trojan War. After his death, his mother, the goddess Eos, requested Zeus to make his statue sing at dawn. The colossal statues of Memnon were located in Egypt, and travelers claimed to hear mysterious sounds emanating from them at sunrise, believed to be the voice of Memnon.

It is said that the terracotta warriors were buried with China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. These statues carry a curse. According to the legends, the spirits of the soldiers reciprocate against those who disturb their resting place. Some claim that bad luck or misfortune befalls those who tamper with the ancient statues. As these statues were discovered while digging a well, there are rumors that the well diggers who discovered those warriors first either committed suicide or died in poverty.
