The Definitionary of Emotions: Navigating the Depths of Human Feeling

In this modern world, we all are busy in our day-to-day lives and navigating the true path to success. What keeps us alive in this world are our emotions. Emotions give us a sense of happiness, sadness, gloominess, anger, and whatnot. Emotions stand as the vibrant colors that paint our lives. It is the medium of interaction and communication of one human being to another. It is the emotions that allow us to express how we feel, what we feel, to others. We are saying something but we mean something else. This becomes possible only for emotions. Emotions are the heartbeat of our humanity; a language that transcends our words from our mouths.

Why did I title this blog a "Definitionary"? Any guesses? Let's think. We are reading a great story and we find a word that is unknown to us. What is the next step we take? We find a dictionary that gives us the meaning of that specific word. We also get the meaning of different emotions in the dictionary but does it provide the true meaning of our emotions? As humans, we are very complex in our thinking and mere words can't define our emotions. In this blog, I will take you along with me to a world of emotions where emotions are better understood through our complex human minds. Let's begin, shall we?

ANGER:

When things don't go according to our expectations; when someone close to us betrays us; when we can't fix a thing we wholeheartedly want to; the emotion we feel is anger. We could have done it a lot earlier but we procrastinated and now it has gone out of our hands; we can do nothing but get angry at ourselves. I think most of our anger springs from our wrong imaginations. We think of it in one way surely but it turns out differently. We scream our lungs out, break things, etc. We do these things as it provides us some sense of satisfaction. But does it really calm our minds? Absolutely not!

It is that emotion of a human being that rises suddenly and mostly uncontrollably. It is a volatile energy that, if harnessed with mindfulness, can serve as a catalyst for change. We can use this emotion to drive ourselves towards our passion. For example- if we are unable to do well in our academics, we should let our anger out and use that anger to push ourselves to reach better grades.

Anger is such an emotion that depicts the helplessness of humankind. As he or she is unable to do anything in the situation, all his inner feelings combine and come out raging! In such situations, what we should do is realize what could be done earlier; learn from it, and, move on. Furthermore, we can channel this anger and use this as fuel for following our dreams and passion in a focused manner.

Fear:

We are going through a forest, alone in the evening. We can hear the bushes rustling, and wild animal noises not very far from us. We started running instead of walking. But why are we doing that? We are scared, right? We are in a hurry to reach our destination as the sense of "Fear" has encroached our minds. It is one of the weakest points of human beings as humans can be easily exploited by using their fear.

It is such an emotion that won't let us confidently do anything. We will keep thinking about what bad will happen to us for every work we do. We shall not let others exploit this built-in weak point of us. Confident people don't have any sense of fear in them as they already know they are not doing anything wrong in their lives. Fear resides in the minds of the corrupted people. they fear being caught. However, in real life, those corrupted persons portray themselves as courageous, and innocent people become fearful.

When we think about fear, we can ask if it's something to overcome or if it's a signal to be careful. We should always overcome our fear if we are doing something right without thinking of the consequences. Facing our fears is very tough, but it provides us with the option of making ourselves stronger. If we can cross that forest overcoming our fear, a great destination awaits us along with a special gift we achieved while reaching our destination which is a great inner strength.

No person in this world till today has ever benefitted from a sense of fear. Fearing won't help us too. So, we all should overcome our fears and live our lives to the fullest. Remember, we only live once. If you knew that something beautiful was waiting for you behind a scary door, would you open that door or give it up to fear? Please open the door guys!!!

HAPPINESS:

What is the first thing we imagine after hearing the word "Happiness"? We imagined ourselves smiling right? Or a moment we felt real joy without any thinking of our future? That is what happiness is. It is a sense of joy that relaxes our minds and keeps us aloof from all the worldly stress. It is a deep sense of joy every parent feels when their children make them proud. A feeling felt by a day laborer when he gets some extra tip. When we are happy, a true sense of relief works in our minds, and automatically a smile pops up on our faces!!!!!

These pictures depict the happiness of two children who are just being in the moment and realizing the beauty of life. Often in our day-to-day lives, we become sad relating to various causes. But my advice to those sad people is to just live in the moment guys. These things are part of our life and we must go through them, and learn from them. What I wanted to say is happiness is a subjective thing; it varies from individual to individual. One finds happiness by eating just bread before going to sleep and the other one is unhappy as he can't choose between foods to eat before sleeping. Live the moment guys: the clock is ticking!! Have a slice of bread and be happy!!
